Men's Wardrobe Vogue 8889 View B,C

Hey!

Well, here we are again, although this one is not about ties, it's about shirts.

Yes, it's the all important men's basic MUST HAVE for either work or casual outings, this particular item does exist in all their glory in the major pattern companies.

This is definitely a BUILD YOUR WARDROBE for the guy.  I also think that since the patterns that exist for men do not form the majority of the bulk that is available to buy, I think it deserves some attention anyway.

I also have had some experience making dress shirts for my brothers etc, and I am sure that after the 7th try I have perfected some things about men's dress shirts.

This particular dress shirt of Vogue 8889 both views B and C, is slightly different because it has a side back and side front pattern pieces which make for...well let's be honest here a more attractive form all around and this pattern is the most flattering for the man from some of the other shirts I have made from other patterns.  The flat felled seams puts it all together.

Also, I have noticed that some cookie-cutter patterns usually have a very box-like form, so yes 5 stars for this pattern.

Notice the side-back and side-front panels on view B.

This pattern worked so well, I made both view B and view C. The difference between B and C is the front yoke area.  on view B there are 3 mm tucks that once again make for a different feel overall.  Since they were so small, it was kind of a bit of a challenge to press them the way I want.

My 3 mm tucks on view B
And, yes, I made a white striped version as Vogue suggested, but view C  was also cool.
I also found a grey striped version for the younger type generation kind of look.  We were looking in Bootlegger some time ago and we found a similar young guy shirt but the cost was like WHOA for what it was and like always....I can make that myself!!!!
View C has a tuck-less regular yoke type version, so here are my view C's

Back view C
As you my have guessed, view B and C has the same look, although in this case for view C, I cut out a size smaller of 42 instead of 44 and it fit bigger...that was weird, but they both worked out FAB!

And don't forget that yokes on a man's shirt is perfectly fine with which I find adds to the overall male figure...but not women's shirts.

Anyway, I look forward to doing more men's wardrobe things (like coats) so stay tuned!

Bye for now!

Karin.
